NFL Rewind Week 17

Instant Recap
Records, Records, Records, Records, and oh yeah PLAYOFFS. That was this final week of the regular season was all about. In New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees broke records as the team finished 13-3. In Green Bay the Packers rested their stars but it didn't matter. Backup QB Matt Flynn threw for 480 Yards and 6 TD's (both Packers records) who is a FA in the Off season showed everyone why he can be a starter in this league. Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson passed Jerome Bettis for 5th All Time in Rushing Yards in NFL History. Tom Brady and Drew Brees both passed Dan Marinos' record for Passing Yards in a season, and Saints TE Jimmy Graham and Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski also passed Hall of Fame TE Kellen Winslows record for Receiving Yards in a season by a TE. The Playoff Seeds were set with the Giants clinching the NFC East on Sunday Night, and in the AFC the Broncos and Bengals clinched playoff berths as well. The Packers, 49ers, Patriots, and Ravens all will have 1st Round Byes. Saving the worst for last the Indianapolis Colts pulled off the Loss and clinched the No.1 pick in the draft after narrowly choking it away the past 2 weeks. An outstanding 2011 Regular Season is in the books, and now we get what we all love. Playoff Football!

"Say What" Stats:

163: Penalties this season by the Oakland Raiders. A new NFL Record.

13,684: Career Rushing Yards by Jets RB LaDanian Tomlinson now 5th All Time.

468: Completions this season by Saints QB Drew Brees a new NFL Record.

971: Combined Passing Yards Sunday between the Lions (Stafford 520) and Packers (Flynn 480)

1,327: Receiving Yards this season by Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski the most among TE's in NFL History.

MVP Watch

Drew Brees NO (vs. CAR): 28/35 389 Pass Yards 5 TD's 1 INT 140.7 QB Rating
2011 Season: 468/657 5,476 Pass Yards 46 TD's 14 INT's 110.6 QB Rating

2011 Total: 401/611 5,235 Pass Yards 39 TD's 12 INT's 105.6 QB Rating 3 Rush TD's

Defensive Player of the Week

Jared Allen DE, MIN: 5 Tackles (3 Solo), 3.5 Sacks

Allen fell just .5 a Sack short of the NFL Record (22.5-Strahan)

-For the final time in the 2011 Regular we have our Defensive Player of the Week. Jared Allen earns the nominee after his 3.5 Sack performance against the Bears, a game that almost brought him to NFL history. Allen fell just .5 a sack short of Michael Strahans record of 22.5 but he did tie the Vikings record. Allens 3 Sack performance was very impressive and even in a meaningless game between 2 Division Rivals,

Top Plays of the Week

Kellen Clemens 17 Yard TD Run

David Akers 14 Yard TD Pass

Marques Colston 15 Yard TD Catch

Play of the Week: David Akers 14 Yard TD Pass
-OK so maybe it wasn't the most amazing play, and it didn't have broken tackles, a diving catch or a deep throw but how often do you get to see the Kicker throw a 14 Yard TD. David Akers already set the record for most converted FG's in a season (44), and now he can add his 1st ever TD Pass to his 2011 Stats sheet. It was a beautiful call by 49ers HC Jim Harbaugh as it got everyone by surprise and it helped the 49ers win 34-27.

Andrew Luck Sweepstakes
-Whew! That was a close one for the Indianapolis Colts, they almost blew the perfect opportunity to get the No.1 pick. The Colts had a 2 game winning streak coming into Week 17 and if they had found a way to beat the Jaguars the Rams would have had the No.1 Overall pick. Fortunately for everyone, the Colts lost and all is right in the world again. They will draft No.1 Overall and they will take Andrew Luck with that pick, but what does that mean for Peyton Manning.
Could Andrew Luck sit behind Manning for years until he retires,
or will one of the two have to be traded.
The Indianapolis Colts Front Office will have several directions that they could go in. First, they could wait until Manning is cleared to play, then trade Luck for a stockpile of 1st and 2nd Rounders on Draft Night. This plan gives them more control as they could use the additional 1st Round Picks to build their defense and Offensive Line. It would give Manning evidence that they still believe in him, and it would give Luck the chance to be the immediate Superstar in another city. Another situation is to try and trade Peyton Manning. They risk having to eat a big chunk of Mannings' salary, and trading Manning would put alot of pressure on Luck and the Front Office. While it would allow Luck to start immediately in Indianapolis, he would have to deal with the shadow of Peyton manning performing in another city, and fans demanding that he perform just as well if not better. The final option is that the Colts keep both Peyton and Andrew Luck. The "Aaron Rodgers Method" would allow Luck to learn from one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game, and would also give him a few years to develop his Passing Skills more and learn the System. The Colts wouldn't get any Compensation out of it, and they risk upsetting Luck, but it seems to be the more reasonable of the 3 options. The Colts could go any of the 3 ways on this, but one thing is for sure. Up until the final decision is made there will be alot of pressure on all sides.

NFL Rewind Week 15

Instant Recap:
Upset Sunday was the storyline of the week, and there were alot of headlines to go around. The Indianapolis Colts who came into Week 15 0-13 beat the Titans for their first win of the season. Meanwhile in Kansas City, the Packers put their 13-0 record on the line, and lost to the Chiefs ending their undefeated chances. In an NFC East clashing the Redskins upset the Giants, who were essentially in a must win game. Drew Brees dismantled the Vikings for 5 TD Passes, and in Tebow land the Patriots showed who the real class of the AFC was in a 41-23 victory. As for the prime time games, well that was a whole new story. The Ravens came in confident and left begging for mercy after the Charges beat them 34-14. On Monday night we had to wait just a little longer for football. Twice the stadium lost power, which maybe was sign of the Steelers offense. Big Ben turned the ball over 4 times, 3 resulting in a combined 13 points for the 49ers. The win kept the Packers from clinching the No.1 seed, and also did the same for the Steelers. This may have been the most suprising week yet, and that makes it even more fun for NFL Fans.

"Say What" Stats:

4,780: Passing Yards by Saints QB Drew Brees. Only 304 yards short of Dan Marinos record (5.084)

1,006: Receiving Yards by Bengals rookie WR A.J Green. 16th rookie to ever do so.

19: Straight wins by the Green Bay Packers before their 19-14 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

214: Receiving Yards by Lions WR Calvin Johnson Sunday vs. Oakland. A career best

MVP Watch:

Drew Brees NO (@ MIN): 32/40 412 Pass Yards 5 TD's 0 INT's 149.2 QB Rating
2011 Total: 417/583 4,780 Pass Yards 37 TD's 11 INT's 109.1 QB Rating, 1 Rush TD

Aaron Rodgers GB (@ KC): 17.35 235 Pass Yards 1 TD 0 INT's  80.1 QB Rating, 1 Rush TD
2011 Total: 322/473 4,360 Pass Yards 40 TD's 6 INT's 120.1 QB Rating, 3 Rush TD's

Tom Brady NE (@ DEN: 23/34 320 Pass Yards 2 TD's 0 INT's 117.3 QB Rating, 1 Rush TD
2011 Total: 345/530 4,593 Pass Yards 35 TD's 11 INT's 106.7 QB Rating, 1 Rush TD

LeSean McCoy PHI (vs. NYJ): 18 Carries 102 Yards (5.7 YPC) 3 TD's, 2 Catches -5 Yards, 1 FUM
2011 Total: 260 Carries 1,274 Yards (4.9 YPC) 17 Rush TD's, 46 Catches 305 Yards 3 TD's, 1 FUM

Defensive Player of the Week:

John Abraham DE, ATL: 5 Tackles (4 Solo) 3.5 Sacks, 2 FF

On Thursday Night, Abraham stepped up big collecting 3.5 Sacks, and forcing 2
fumbles as a result.
-From now on watch only the prime time games, you are likely to find the Defensive Player of the Week in there. Last week it was Jason Pierre-Paul, and this week it is John Abraham. On Thursday Night Football on NFL Network, Falcons DE John Abraham proved to be a disrupting force for the Jaguars. Abraham made it a rough night for rookie QB Blaine Gabbert sacking him 3.5 times, and forcing 2 fumbles. The Falcons went on to win 41-14 and Abraham played an important role in the blowout victory. Nice job John Abraham, and great job Atlanta Falcons.

Browns 80 yard TD run against the Titans, played a key part in
the Colts first win of the season
Plays of the Week

Greg Little 76 Yard TD Catch

Plaxico Burress 9 Yard TD Catch

Donald Brown 80 Yard TD Run

Top Play of the Week: Donald Brown 80 Yard TD Run
-Donald Brown wins the "Play of the Week" Honors with his amazing 80 yard TD run. Brown broke tackles in the backfield, then reversed direction to find open space and dash 80 yards down the field for the score. It was the longest TD play of the year for the Colts, and it also gave the Colts their first Win on the year. Brown is turning heads in the NFL and will be someone to keep an eye on in 2012.

Coaches Hot Seat:

Steve Spagnulo, STL: Seared
-Steve Spagnulo the former Giants DC may be on the way out after only 2 seasons in St. Louis. Spagnulo has taken a team that fell just short of an NFC West Crown last year at 7-9 and turned it into a 2-12 Squad, struggling to avoid being the worst team in the NFL. Granted there have been injuries along the way but the Rams 27th ranked offense and 32nd ranked run defense just aren't getting the job done. Spagnulo may be given one more year to save the Rams, but he just as easily could be out after this season.

Raheem Morris, TB: Simmering
-Another case of a young coach who did well in 2010, but in 2011 is facing a much different issue. The 2011 Buccaneers are 4-10, and keep in mind they had 10 wins just last year. The Bucs rank 26th against stopping the pass and 29th against stopping the run. The Bucs have also dealt with some injuries on defense, but there was poor play even before the injuries. While their is no doubt in my mind Morris will keep his job in 2012, his seat is starting to get hot.

"Suck for Luck" Sweepstakes

-The Colts Won, The Colts Won. Thank Tebow all mighty, the Indianapolis Colts won a football game without Peyton Manning. Despite the sarcasm a win was big for the Colts, and it provides a small glimmer of hope for Colts fans. However, it doesn't change the status of who will have the 1st Overall pick. There is no question about it, the Indianapolis Colts are the worst team in the NFL, and will be drafting Andrew Luck 1st Overall. He is a rare QB Prospect who can come in right away and help lift the spirits of the franchise that selects him. His ability to run when he needs to, make the accurate pass, his knowledge of the game, and ability to make bad WR's look good is rare in rookie QB's. The only problem, the Colts will have a healthy Peyton Manning in 2012, so which of the 2 QB's do they trade for a Kings Ransom.
Andrew Luck didn't win the Heisman but there should be no doubt
he is the No.1 Draft Pick in 2012
Once the Colts draft Andrew Luck however, that is where the real problem starts. All reports indicate that come Training Camp, Peyton Manning will be healthy and ready to go. Now with any other rookie QB that is fine, just let the young QB learn from the bench. Luck is different though, he has the ability to start right away, and he will want to start right away. It is highly unlikely that the Colts will keep both so it will come down to which QB will they get more for. My guess is Andrew Luck will be traded, most likely to the Browns for multiple 1st round picks. It is going to be a interesting storyline when the draft comes around, and one EVERYONE will be keeping an eye on.

With so many questions about whether or not Moore can be an NFL
QB, he will have alot to prove against Arizona State

NFL Rewind Week 14

It was another rough day for Buehler and the Cowboys
as another last second  FG was ruined by a TO/
Instant Recap:

As the regular season winds down, the two story lines are the Green Bay Packers and Tim Tebow, and both keep finding ways to win. In Green Bay it was a 46-16 beat down of the Raiders, but the Packers lost star WR Greg Jennings for the remainder of the regular season. Meanwhile in Denver, down 10 with only minutes to go Tim Tebow led another comeback, capped off in Overtime by a Matt Prater 51 Yard Field Goal to win it. Around the league we saw the Colts drop to 0-13, the Patriots nearly lose to Washington, but the storyline there was instead NE Offensive Coordinator Bill O'Brien went off on Tom Brady after an INT. The 49ers dropped to 10-3 after a disappointing loss to the Cardinals, and in Dallas they were once again "iced" in the end this time by the opposing team. Another great week of football, and the playoffs haven't even started yet.

"Say What" Stats:

15: TD Receptions by Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski this season. A new NFL Record for TE's

27: Interceptions by the Packers Defense. 9 more then the 2nd best team (Detroit Lions)
7:  Interceptions by Chargers S Eric Weddle, tied for most this year. He had 2 all of last season

6:  Straight wins by Broncos QB Tim Tebow. Once again, thanks to a last minute comeback

136: Rushing Yards by the Packers Sunday against the Raiders. The most they have had all season.

MVP Race:

Aaron Rodgers GB (vs. OAK): 17/30 281 Pass Yards 2 TD's 1 INT 96.7 QB Rating
2011 Season: 305/438 4,125 Pass Yards 39 TD's 6 INT's 123.3 QB Rating, 2 Rush TD's

Tom Brady NE (@ WAS): 22/37 357 Pass Yards 3 TD's 1 INT 107.6 QB Rating
2011 Total: 328/496 4,273 Pass Yards 33 TD's 11 INT's 106.0 QB Rating

Drew Brees NO (@ TEN): 36/47 337 Pass Yards 2 TD's 0 INT's 110.0 QB Rating
2011 Total: 385/543 4,368 Pass Yards 32 TD's 11 INT's 105.9 QB Rating

LeSean McCoy PHI (@ MIA): 27 Carries 38 Yards (1.4 YPC) 2 TD's, 3 Catches 33 Yards
2011 Total: 242 Carries 1,172 Yards (4.8 YPC) 14 TD's, 45 Catches 310 Yards 3 TD's

Defensive Player of the Week

Jason Pierre-Paul DE, NYG: 8 Tackles (6 Solo) 2 Sacks, 2 FF, 1 FG Block
Pierre Paul may proved himself on Sunday
Night forcing 2 turnovers, and blocking a FG
Jason Pierre-Paul is making a name for himself in this league, not just as one of the best young DE's in the game, but arguably one of the best DE's in the game and he is only 22 Years Old. On Sunday Night in a Prime time division rivalry against the Cowboys Pierre Paul proved to be a monster. He sacked Tony Romo twice, one resulting in a Safety, then later in the game he forced a Felix Jones fumble inside their own 20 to set up a Giants score. If that wasn't enough after Cowboys K David Buehler made a FG to tie the game but was nullified by a Giants TO. Pierre Paul leaped through the pile and tipped it just enough so the next one fell short, and the Giants won. Jason Pierre Paul your Defensive Player of the Week.

Top Plays of the Week:

Michael Robinson Blocked Punt Return TD

Eric Walden 22 yard Fumble Return TD
Rob Gronkowski 50 Yard Catch

"Now Hiring"

Miami Dolphins:

Dream Scenario: Jeff Fisher, Titans HC '94-'10
-The Miami Dolphins are in the market for a new Head Coach after missing out last year on Jim Harbaugh, then having to see Tony Sporano coach another year. Now Tony Sporano is gone, and there will be a intense search for the next coach. If the Dolphins could have their way they would have JEff Fisher. Fisher served as coach in Tennessee before being ousted just last year. With a year off from coachign Fisher will be itching to get back into the Coaching Reighns, and his defensive specialties will be a nice fit for the Dolphins.
Realistic Option: Greg Olson, OC TB "06-Present
-While Fisher is one of the bigger names out there, and a good defensive coordinator, it may be an offensive coordinator that gets the job. A few miles down the road the Dolphins may look to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant Greg Olson, who has done a nice job developing guys like Josh Freeman, LeGarrete Blount and Mike Williams. The Dolphins can start fresh at QB in the 2012 NFL Draft, which means Olson can have his own QB, to turn this Dolphins team around.

Kansas City Chiefs:

Dream Scenario: Brian Billick, HC BAL '99-'07
-While Brian Billick may not be the top name on the market, he is one of the most solid options out there. Billick can bring a defensive presence to Kansas City and work with their young secondary and LB's just as he did in Baltimore. He has won a Super Bowl and has success in the Post Season which helps his resume stand out. If Kansas City wants to win the AFC West, Billick may be the ebst option.
Realistic Option: Gregg Williams, DC '09-Present

Jacksonville Jaguars:

Dream Scenario: Bill Cowher, Steelers HC '92-'06
-Of all the coaching candidates out there, Bill Cowher has to be the one. A simple resume that speaks for itself 149 Wins, Super Bowl ring, 2 AFC Championships, and a great teacher of the game. In Jacksonville, Cowher would bring a strong defense both to the defense, but in the Front Office. He could help teach the younger guys the ways of the game, and he will get along with the new Owner well. If the Jaguars can lure Bill Cowher to Jacksonville, it would be a great hire.
Realistic Scenario: Perry Fewell, DC NYG '10-Present
-Fewell has only been the Giants Defensive Coordinator for 2 seasons, but that doesn't mean he can't be a realistic candidate for the Jaguars coaching job. Fewells defense has shown the ability to rush the passer, which is something the Jaguars really aren't good at (22nd in rushing the QB). Fewell would get the chance to work with his own scheme, and finally give the Jaguars the Pass Rush they finally need.

Suck for Luck Sweepstakes

-There is no question about it, the Indianapolis Colts are the worst team in the NFL, and will be drafting Andrew Luck 1st Overall. He is a rare QB Prospect who can come in right away and help lift the spirits of the franchise that selects him. It is going to be a interesting storyline when the draft comes around, and one EVERYONE will be keeping an eye on.

RG3 already has the Heisman, now he wants to prove
he can be the best QB Prospect
Draft Prospects to watch:

Robert Griffin III QB, Baylor:
Height: 6'2 Weight: 220 Class: Junior
Bowl Game: Alamo Bowl, December 29th
What to watch for:
-Pocket Presence
-Mid-Deep Ball Accuracy
-4th Quarter Play

Melvin Ingram DE, South Carolina:
Height: 6'2 Weight: 276 Class: Senior
Bowl Game: Capital One Bowl, January 2nd
What to watch for:
-Pass Rush Skills
-Coverage Skills
-Motor

LaMichael James RB, Oregon:
Height: 5'9 Weight: 185  Class: Junior
Bowl Game: Rose Bowl, January 2nd
What to watch for:

NFL Rewind Week 13

Instant Analysis:
It was Tim Tebows arm not his legs, that put on an
impressive display against the Vikings on Sunday
-We are finally seeing teams lock up playoff spots, and even lock up divisions for that matter. The 10-2 49ers locked up the NFC West after beating the Rams 26-0, meanwhile in New Jersey the Green Bay Packers continued their winning ways and improved to 12-0, while locking up the NFC North. As for the rest of the NFC, the Bears lost RB Matt Forte to a knee sprain in their loss to Kansas City, the Saints dismantled the Lions on Sunday Night, and the Cardinals got another walk off win this time against the Dallas Cowboys. Meanwhile in the AFC the 9-3 Texans beat the Falcons, even with rookie T.J Yates at QB and Andre Johnson hurting his hamstring. (Yates became the first UNC QB to start an NFL game), Ravens RB Ray Rice broke out for a career best 204  rushing yards in the teams win against the Browns, the Steelers also improved to 9-3 with their demolishing of the Bengals. Finally, Tim Tebow just keeps on winning football games and had his best game of the season in the Broncos win against the Vikings. It was another great week of football for everyone around the NFL, and things are only going to get better as the season winds down.

"Say What" Stats:
18: Straight wins by the Green Bay Packers, which includes playoffs. NFL Record (19)

13: Rushing TD's by Panthers Rookie QB Cam Newton, an NFL record for a rookie QB

51: TD Passes by Aaron Rodgers, in the teams past 18 games.
7,396: Career Rushing Yards by 49ers RB Frank Gore, the most in 49ers history.
MVP Watch:
Aaron Rodgers GB: (@ NYG): 28/46 369 Pass Yards 4 TD's 1 INT 106.2 QB Rating
2011 Total: 288/408 3,844 Pass Yards 37 TD's 5 INT's 125.3 QB Rating 2 Rush TD's

Tom Brady NE: (vs. IND) 29/38 289 Pass Yards 2 TD's 114.9 QB Rating
2011 Total: 306/459 3,916 Pass Yards 30 TD's 10 INT's 105.9 QB Rating

Drew Brees NO (vs. DET): 26/36 342 Pass Yards 3 TD's 129.6 QB Rating
2011 Total: 349/496 4,031 Pass Yards 30 TD's 11 INT's  105.5 QB Rating

LeSean McCoy PHI (@ SEA) 17 Carries 84 Yards (4.9 YPC) 1 TD, 4 Catches 49 Yards 1 TD
2011 Total: 215 Carries 1,134 Yards (5.3 YPC) 12 TD's, 42 Catches 277 Yards 3 TD's

Defensive Player of the Week:

Mario Haggan LB, Broncos:  12 Tackles (7 Solo) 1 PD, 1 INT Returned for TD
In the Absence of Von Miller, Mario Haggan stepped up big returning
an INT for a TD, and recording 12 Tackles

-Mario Haggan was simply a fill in linebacker who would provide depth and help Von Miller get rest. But with Miller out with a hand injury, Mario Haggan got the start and stepped up in a big way. Haggan showed up early in this game first making a good read and tackling Toby Gerhart in the backfield in the 1st quarter, then he made the defensive play of the game. Haggan picked off a Christian Ponder pass and returned it 15 yards to give the Broncos their first TD of the game. Haggan continued to find the ball carrier as he accounted for 12 tackles, 7 Solo and he was a difference maker on defense. A strong game for Haggan, and one that made the absence of Miller almost unnoticeable.
Top Plays of the Week:

Larod Stephens Howling 52 Yard TD Catch

Robert Meachem 67 Yard TD Catch

David Hawthorne 77 Yard INT Return TD

Top Play of the Week: Larod Stephens-Howling 52 Yard GW TD Catch
-It was a close contest between this play and Seahawks LB David Hawthorne returning an INT 77 yards for a TD on Thursday Night Football. However, it came down to the fact that Stephens-Howlings TD came on the last play of the game, it won the game, and it was because of his great moves. An amazing play by Howling, and although it won't have any effect on the Cardinals playoff chances, it will lift the spirits of the team.

Coaches Hot Seat

Andy Reid, PHI: Ashes
-Let's face it there is not much else Andy Reid can do to save his job in Philadelphia. After a Thursday Night loss to the  Seahawks, the Eagles dropped to a miserable  4-8. Granted they have gone 3 weeks without Michael Vick, but that doesn't excuse the poor play on defense or by the WR's. Andy Reid is a great coach but the dream scenario in Philadelphia failed, and a split would be best for both
Norv Turner, SD: Burnt Crisp
-Norv Turner has officially lost this Chargers football team. His inability to motivate, prepare or coach in key game situations plus the poor play of the Chargers defense and QB Phillip Rivers has led to this teams epic disappointment of a season. The Chargers who came into this season as one of the favorites in the AFC, and picked by several people to make it to the Super Bowl, are now last in the worst division in the NFL A.K.A the AFC West. It is no longer of if Norv Turner will be fired, but when will he be fired. G.M A.J Smith could be on his way out as well.
Tony Sporano, MIA:  Deep Fried
-Tony SporanoHenne, Matt Moore has proved himself as a decent QB. Despite the impressive play and former Saints outcast Reggie Bush, there is no denying the fact that Sporano will likely be gone after this season. There are to many better options out there for the Dolphins then then Sporano, and because of it Sporano will be looking for a new job in the off season.

In his past few games Luck has found the opposing DB's 5 times
while his status as No.1 pick is still certain, he isn't as glorious as before

So what will the Colts do with Andrew Luck? Peyton Manning is coming off a neck injury and soon will be reaching his "Old Man" years, and the Colts will need to find a new franchise QB. Andrew Luck gives them an immediate impact QB who can come in and make their franchise relevant again. The Colts have key impending free agents (Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Jeff Saturday). Assuming all 3 can be re-signed that would give Luck a veteran Center, and two legitimate WR's to throw to. Luck would arrive in a place filled with tradition, leadership and great coaching. But what about that guy Peyton Manning, you know the 1st Ballot Hall of Famer. Then again the Colts could trade Luck to a young team, and roll with Peyton Manning for a few more years. 2 difficult scenarios to think about and one the Colts front office, and Colts fans will be scratching their heads on.

NFL Week 10 Rewind

Instant Recap
After being a draft bust in Arizona, Matt Leinart
will get a chance to help a loaded Texans team to the playoffs
We are now 10 weeks into this NFL season, and there are headlines everywhere. The Colts lost again meaning they are win less through 10 games, the Lions who were once 5-0, have now dropped to 6-3, and are 3 games back of the Green Bay Packers. Speaking of the Packers they are 9-0 after a dominating Monday Night win against the Vikings, a game in which we may have finally seen the Packers Defense we are used to seeing. As for the "Dream Team" everything has fell apart, and at 3-6 they would have to win out just for a chance to make the playoffs. In the AFC the Patriots had no trouble with the Jets in New York, and are now the favorites in the AFC East. Meanwhile the Ravens coming off a big win over Pittsburgh dropped a dud against the lowly Seahawks. There is no clear front runner in the AFC, especially with the Texans now having to start Matt Leinart for the rest of the year.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Rob Ninkovich LB, NE: 5 Tackles (4 Solo) 1 PD, 2 INT’s, 1 INT TD
Ninkovich stepped up big for the Patriots,
picking off 2 Mark Sanchez passes
-In a key divisional game Rob Ninkovich made 2 big plays to help win the game for his team. His first interception came on a deflection in the 3rd quarter as the Jets were driving in NE territory, Then in the 4th quarter with the Jets at their own 10, Ninkovich picked off a Mark Sanchez pass and returned it for a TD. It was a strong week for the Patriots and Ninkovich who will look to build on it next week vs. Kansas City.
Top Plays of the Week
Early Doucet 5 yard TD Catch

Saints Defense 4th Down Stop
Play of the Week: Early Doucet with his 5 yard TD grab to seal the Cardinals upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Doucet caught a John Skelton pass and ran through for the TD to give the Cardinals a 21-17 lead, which would prove to be the final score. A great win for the Cardinals, and a great play for Doucet.

Injury Updates:
Matt Schuab, HOU: Lisfranc injury (foot), OUT for year
-The Texans were looking like one of the favorites in the AFC. Then they lost Mario Williams, but they manged to fill that void and play great football. Now they will be without Matt Schuab, a void that will be much harder to fill. Schuab injured his foot on a QB sneak vs. TB, and will likely recquire season ending surgery. With Schuab out, former 10th overall pick Matt Leinart will be the Texans starter.
Matt Cassell, KC: Hand, OUT for year
-The Chiefs just can't catch a break this year. First it was Tony Moeaki, then Jamaal Charles, then Eric Berry. Now they will be without their QB Matt Cassel for the remainder of the season. Tyler Palko will take his place, as the Chiefs try to stay close in a weak AFC West race.
Michael Vick, PHI: Broken Ribs, Questionable Week 11
-Michael Vick suffered broken ribs early in their game against the Arizona Cardinals, but managed to play through the pain. Vick led the Eagles to a lead in the 4th quarter but saw the defense collapse and lose the game. Vick wasn't that impressive
Rashean Mathis, JAC/Eric Wood, BUF: Torn ACL, OUT for year
-2 ACL injuries occurred in Week 10 both will be significant losses for their teams. Jacksonville Jaguars DB Rashean Mathis tore his ACL in Sundays game against the Colts. Meanwhile in Dallas, Buffalo Bills Center Eric Wood tore his ACL against the Cowboys, and both are expected to be out for the year.

Coaches Hot Seat
Norv Turner, SD: Crispy
The San Diego Chargers are a great football team, but they have flaws. They can't stay healthy with their Offensive Line struggling to stay on the field, Ryan Matthews battling a groin injury, and Antonio Gates being out several weeks. Their next problem is that Phillip Rivers is not remotely close, as he already has `9 total turnovers. The main problem with the Chargers, is their coach Norv
Tony Sporano, MIA: Burnt
-After starting out 0-7, the Miami Dolphins have won 2 games in a row, but that isn't necessarily a good thing. It takes them out of the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes, and for Tony Sporano no matter how he finishes the season, he will be fired. At this point all he is doing is lifting the spirits of the Miami faithful, and improving his job resume for the future.
Andy Reid, PHI: Deep Fried
-After his team acquiring Pro Bowl talent across the board, and Vince Young labeling the Eagles the "Dream Team" Every dream any fan or member of this organization had, has turned into a nightmare. Michael Vick has already thrown 11 Interceptions, which matches his TD Passes. They can't stop the run, and now they are having problems stopping the pass. However the biggest problem is their inability to close games in the 4th quarter (which only makes them more comparable to the Miami Heat). Andy Reid deserves a majority of the blame and with their playoff hopes dim, could be out of a job very quickly.

Andrew Luck Sweepstakes
We are 10 weeks through this 2011 NFL Season and there is a clear leader in the "Andrew Luck Sweepstakes". The Indianapolis Colts, have reached the lowest of lows, and have the best chance of finishing with the worst record in the NFL, and that could easily be a 0-16 season the way they are playing. badly,. They are the only remaining win less team and now will be without TE Dallas Clark for several weeks. Luck meanwhile didn't have his best stuff on Saturday against the Oregon Ducks throwing 2 INT's 1 returned for a TD), but he also had 3 TD Passes in a losing effort.
Andrew Luck as a Colt, now that would be fun to watch
So what would the Colts do if they landed the 1st overall pick, well take Andrew Luck of course. That is when the Colts look at their options and trade Manning for everything and the kitchen sink. It is a crazy scenario to think about and one the Colts front office, and Colts fans may not want to imagine. But no one can play forever, and it is time the Colts prepare for the next 15 years.

NFL Week 9 Rewind

Instant Recap
-We are 9 weeks through this NFL Season and this week was just as good as any other. Tim Tebow went from bust last week to stud against the hated rival Oakland Raiders on the road, and every Broncos fan was "Tebowing" after. In San Diego Phillip Rivers threw 6 TD Passes, unfortunately 2 of them were in Green bays favor as the Packers continued their undefeated season. The win less Miami Dolphins shocked the Chiefs to earn their first W on the season. Meanwhile in a Super Bowl XLII, both ended in the same result a game winning drive by Eli Manning. In Arizona Patrick Peterson won the game in OT on a 99 yard Punt Return. In the AFC East the Jets beat the Bills in what is now a 3 way tie for 1st, while in Washington the 49ers improved their record to 7-1. The two prime time games were excellent winning the game with 8 seconds left, and the Bears beat the "Dream Team" Eagles in the 4th quarter for their 3rd straight win.

Defensive Player of the Week

Charlie Peprah S, GB: 5 Tackles (3 Solo) 2 INT’s 1 TD

MVP (Check), Defending Super Bowl Champs (Check), 8-0 (Check), Defensive Player of the Week (Check). The Green Bay Packers have their first Defensive Player of the week, and it is Charlie Peprah. Peprah stepped up big in Week 9 against San Diego, picking off a Phillip Rivers pass and returning it 40 yards for a TD in the 1st quarter. Then sealing a Packers win with an INT with seconds remaining. It was another strong week for the Packers, and an impressive performance by Charlie Peprah.

Top Plays of the Week

Patrick Peterson 99 Yard GW Punt Return TD

Winner: Patrick Petersons 99 yard Punt Return for a TD was the Game Winner, and is the Top Play of the Week Winner. His 3rd punt return for a TD of the year was crucial as he earned his team the W, and proved himself worthy of Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Injury Updates

Miles Austin WR, DAL: Aggravated Hamstring, OUT 2-4 Weeks
-Miles Austin has another hamstring injury , this time in his other lef. Austin is expected to miss 2-4 weeks and even after those 4 games it is likely the hamstring injury could still be lingering. Dez Bryant will become the teams No.1 WR and Laurent Robinson should recieve more targets as the No.2

Gerald McCoy DT, TB: Torn Biceps, OUT for Season
-For the second year in a row Bucs DT Gerald McCoy is headed for the Injured Reserve (IR). McCoy suffered a torn bicep and will be placed on IR Tuesday. With McCoy out for the year Brian Price will start in his place. Price has registered 9 tackles and 1 sack so far this year.

Tracy Porter DB, NO: Neck injury, TBD
-It was a scary collision for the Saints and Tracy Porter in the 1st quarter of Sundays game against the Bucs. Porter collided with WR Mike Williams and fell to the ground as he stayed down for several minutes. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital overnight for testing. On Monday, Porter was at the Saints facilities undergoing treatment, and he has yet to be ruled out for Week 10/

Coaches Hot Seat

Tony Sporano, Miami Dolphins: Ashes
-Tony Sporano cooled down a bit on the hot seat, but in the process made alot of Miami fans unhappy. By blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dolphins earned their first Win of the season. However, it hurts the chances of landing Andrew Luck, and that leaves the Dolphins faithful with a frown on their face. There is no doubt Sporano will be fired, but at least he is building his resume to get an assistant job elsewhere.

Mike Shanahan, Washington Redskins: Deep Fried
-Mike Shanahan has slowly but surely punched his ticket out the door from the Capital city. After he started 3-1 his team has now dropped to 3-5 and is looking lost whenever they are on the field. Shanahan has also upset Redskins fans, exiled players and is now ruining fantasy football with his week to week RB starts. All in all this will be Shanahans last year in D.C
Andrew Luck Sweepstakes

We half way through this 2011 NFL Season and there is finally a clear leader in the "Andrew Luck Sweepstakes". The Indianapolis Colts, have reached the lowest of lows, and have the best chance of finishing with the worst record in the NFL, and that could easily be a 0-16 season the way they are playing. badly,. They are the only remaining win less team and now will be without TE Dallas Clark for several weeks. Nothing can go right for this Colts team, well nothing except get Andrew Luck.
Andrew Luck as a Colt, now that would be fun to watch
So what would the Colts do if they landed the 1st overall pick, well take Andrew Luck of course. Peyton Manning is coming off a neck injury and soon will be reaching his "Old Man" years, and the Colts will need to find a new franchise QB. NFL Rewind Week 8

Instant Analysis:

-A week filled with upsets, surprises, Tebowing, and some good luck for teams coming off the Bye. Breaking a trend of teams struggling after a bye the 6 Bye Week teams from Week 7 went a combined 5-1 in Week 8, with the only loss being the Patriots against the Steelers. Meanwhile in Denver Tim Tebow showed everyone why he is still not an NFL QB at this point in a 45-10 beating from the Lions, in which Tebow fumbled 3 times threw 1 INT and was sacked 7 times. Meanwhile around the league the Bills shutout the Redskins which was the first time a Mike Shanahan coached team has ever been shutout. The 49ers keep on winning (6-1), The Colts keep on losing, and the Dolphins have proved their mastery of the “Lebron” by choking away another game. Congrats to the Rams for shocking the football world and beating the Saints, finally the “Dream Team” may finally be arriving after a 34-7 win against the Cowboys.

Say What” Stats

14: Turnovers this season by Chargers QB Phillip Rivers. His 11 Interceptions and 3 Fumbles combine for the most turnovers this season.

239: Rush yards by the Philadelphia Eagles in their 34-7 thrashing of the Cowboys. The Cowboys entered the game with the No.1 Run Defense in the NFL.

9: Turnovers forced by the Kansas City Chiefs in their past 2 games. ( 6 @ OAK, 3 vs. SD) 8 of the 9 turnovers have been interceptions.

46.1: Completion Percentage of Broncos QB Tim Tebow (35/76), last in the NFL among qualifying QB’s.

3: Straight games the Bengals have had a defensive TD in the 4th quarter. (2 INT’s 1 Fumble Recovery)

MVP Watch: (Players with Week 8 Bye are not on list)

Drew Brees: (@ STL) 30/44 269 Pass Yards 1 TD 2 INT’s 73.0 QB Rating
2011 Total: 242/343 2,746 Pass Yards 19 TD’s 10 INT’s 100.6 QB Rating

Tom Brady: (@ PIT) 24/35 198 Pass Yards 2 TD’s 0 INT’s 101.8 QB Rating
2011 Total: 184/272 2,361 Pass Yards 18 TD’s 8 INT’s 1 Fumble 104.4 QB Rating

Lesean McCoy: (vs. DAL) 30 Carries 185 Rush Yards (6.2 YPC) 2 TD’s 2 Catches 15 Rec Yards
2011 Total: 135 Carries 754 Rush Yards (5.6 YPC) 8 TD’s, 23 Catches 128 Rec Yards 2 TD’s

Calvin Johnson: (@ DEN) 6 Catches 125 Rec Yards 1 TD
2011 Total: 47 Catches 125 Rec Yards 11 TD’s
Defensive Player of the Week

London Fletcher LB, WAS: 20 Tackles (12 Solo, 8 Ast) .5 Sack, 1 INT

London Fletcher stepped up this week for the Redskins, even if the rest of his team did not. Fletcher was all over the field collecting 12 solo tackles, and assisting on 8 more. Fletcher also got to Ryan Fitzpatrick once registering .5 a sack. Fletcher also made a key play when the Bills were driving, intercepting a Fitzpatrick pass in the End Zone. A strong week for Fletcher, and a worthy candidate of Defensive Player of the Week.

Top Plays of the Week

My Pick: For the Week 8 "Top Play of the Week" I give it to Reggie Nelson and his 75 yard Interception return for a TD. It was the longest of the 3 Big Plays, it was the Bengals 3rd straight game with a defensive TD in the 4th quarter, and it was a flat out great play. Congrats to you Reggie Nelson.

Injury Updates

Hakeem Nicks NYG, WR: Strained Hamstring, Questionable Week 9
-The Giants were without Hakeem Nicks at the end of their game vs. Miami due to a strained hamstring. In his absence Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz each stepped up with a TD. X-Rays on Nicks right hamstring were negative, so he may be available Sunday against the Patriots.

Curtis Brinkley SD, RB: Concussion, TBD
-With Mike Tolbet already out and Ryan Mathews dealing with his own injury 3rd string RB Curtis Brinkley was thrown into action late in the game carrying the ball 10 times for 43 yards and adding a TD. After the game it was revealed he has a Concussion, and he will undergo tests throughout the week. The status of all 3 RB's vs. Green Bay is uncertain.

Montario Hardesty CLE, RB: Torn Calf Muscle, OUT Several Weeks
-The Broncos who were already without Peyton Hillis, will now be dealing with the absence of Montario Hardesty for a few weeks. Hardesty tore his calf muscle in the 2nd quarter of their game against the 49ers. In his absence Chris Ogbonnaya ran 11 times for 37 yards, and QB Colt McCoy scrambled 8 times for 30 yards.

Coaches Hot Seat:

Tony Sporano: Burnt Ashes
-Even Soprano's family knows he is out of a job, especially after his team blew another lead, this time against the New York Giants. It is a disturbing line in a string of tactics by Sporano to win the "Suck for Luck" Sweepstakes, and he has hurt his chances of future jobs in the process. The Dolphins have little to be excited about this year except for the purpose of drafting Luck. Yet, despite their terrible play this entire season, they may be out done by the Indianapolis Colts.

Norv Turner: Broiling
-A 4-3 record is usually not a reason to throw a coach onto the hot seat, especially a seasoned coach like Norv Turner. Unfortunately for Norv, his teams have continued to disappear come playoff time, which was the reason his predecessor Marty Schottenheimer was fired in 2006. Now Turner has been coaching from 2007 to now and the Chargers have yet to make it past the AFC Championship game, and now they are not executing plays, fumbling snaps, and having costly penalties, all of which come down to coaching. Turner still has some security, but his job is far from safe.

Mike Shanahan: Cooking
-For the first time in his long tenure as a head coach in the NFL, Mike Shanahan was shutout for the first time ever. It came at the hands of a 20-0 defeat from the Buffalo Bills. Shanahans Redskins have been abysmal since their 3-0 start, the Redskins have lost their last 4 games and are now looking like the cellar team we all thought they would be. It has been 2 seasons for Shanahan and neither have looked promising, even after he defamed Albert Haynesworth and Donovan McNabb.

Andrew Luck Sweepstakes

We are 8 weeks into the "Andrew Luck Sweepstakes" and two of the worst teams in the league are going at it. Right now the Indianapolis Colts, have reached the lowest of lows, and have the best chance of finishing with the worst record in the NFL, and that could easily be a 0-16 season the way they are playing.  badly. Future Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy suggests if you land the No.1 pick you should draft Andrew Luck, and trade Peyton Manning.
NFL Rewind Week 7

Instant Recap
-It was anything but an ordinary Week 7 in the NFL. Going from Tim Tebow looking like Jamarcus Russell for the first 55 minutes of the game, and John Elway for the final 5 minutes. Then to the prime time games where we saw the New Orleans Saints humiliate the Indianapolis Colts 62-7, followed by a Monday Night game between the Ravens and Jaguars that resulted in a 9-7 Jaguars win. In the NFC North the Packers stayed undefeated as they head into their bye week, while the Detroit Lions lost for the 2nd straight game at home. Across the pond the Bears beat the Bucs in London, and back in Oakland Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller combined for 6 interceptions, as the Raiders were shut out by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Browns and Seahawks pillow fight finished in a 6-3 Browns win, and the Houston Texans ran over the Titans 41-7. Terrell Owens had a workout on Thursday but not one scout from any of the 32 teams showed up, so let's hope it stays that way.
"Say What" Stats

7: Games it took Packers QB Aaron Rodgers to reach 2,300 Passing yards and 20 TD's, an NFL record
62: Points scored by the New Orleans Saints Sunday Night against the Colts, the Rams have scored 56 all season
11.5: Sacks by Vikings DE Jared Allen, who is on pace to shatter his previous record of 15.5
8: Straight AFC West wins for the Raiders before being shutout at home by the Kansas City Chiefs
1,104: Receptions by Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez in his career, good for 2nd in NFL history.

Injury Updates

Tim Hightower RB, WAS: Torn ACL, OUT Remainder of Season
-In what was already a confusing RB situation in the Nations Capital, things just got a bit more confusing. After starting the game out strong Tim Hightower had to be carted off the field after suffering a knee injury. MRI's have revealed he has a torn ACL, and he will miss the rest of the season. Ryan Torain and rookie Roy Helu will split carries in his absence.

Santana Moss WR, WAS: Broken hand, OUT 4-5 Weeks
-The Redskins just can't seem to catch a break,  after losing RB Tim Hightower they will also be without star WR Santana Moss. Moss suffered a broken hand early in their game against the Panthers. Moss had surgery early Monday and is expected to miss the next month. In his absence rookie WR Anthony Armstrong is expected to fill the void.

Willis McGahee RB, DEN: Broken bone in hand, OUT 2 Weeks
-In a string of injuries to starting RB's Broncos journeyman Willis McGahee broke a bone in his hand on Sunday. McGahee is expected to have surgery this week, and will likely miss the Broncos next 2 games. Knowshon Moreno will take a majority of the carries in McGahees absence.

Beanie Wells RB, ARI:  Knee Bruise, OUT 2 Weeks
-Just as Beanie Wells was starting to emerge, the knee injuries appear to have made a return. Wells suffered the injury shortly before halftime in Sundays game against the Steelers. MRI results showed it was just a knee bruise, which means he should only miss a few weeks. Alfonso Smith recorded a TD after Wells left, and should be the starter while Wells is hurt.

Defensive Player of the Week

Brandon Flowers CB, KC:  3 Solo Tackles, 2 INT's 1 TD

Brandon Flowers stepped up this week to earn Week 7 Defensive Player of the Week. As part of a Chiefs Defense that forced 6 INT's returned 2 of those for TD's and shutout the Oakland Raiders in Oakland, Flowers contributed in a big way. He had 2 of the 6 INT's and returned one of them for a TD, while also adding 3 solo tackles. The Chiefs defense was everywher forcing Kyle Boller to throw 3 INT's in the 1st half followed by 3 Carson Palmer INT's in the 1nd half. A very strong week for the Chiefs D, and it resulted in a key 28-0 divisional road win.

Coaches Hot Seat Meter
Tony Sporano, Miami Dolphins: Ashes
-Even Tony Soprano's family knows he is out of a job, especially after his team blew a 15 point lead with 3 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.
Tony, even Lebron found your 4th quarter
performance bad
Steve Spagnulo, St. Louis Rams:
-Steve SpagnuloPPG) is an embarrassment to the NFL, and with Bradford still out thins aren't going to get better. It may be a little early for Spagnulo to start packing his bags, but he might want to start winning, otherwise a moving van may be in front of his house before long.

Andrew Luck Sweepstakes

After 6 weeks of Miami being the favorite for the "Andrew Luck Sweepstakes" we finally have a new leader. Congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts, you have reached the lowest of lows, and have become the worst team in the NFL. After the Dolphins proved their mediocrity blowing a 15 point lead you blew their performance out of the water by losing on Sunday Night Football 62-7, and it takes tremendous effort to lose that badly. Now, your Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy suggests if you land the No.1 pick you should draft Andrew Luck, and trade Peyton Manning.

NFL Rewind Week 6

Instant Recap
-Another great week of football filled with memories, NFL records, upsets and coaches making headlines. In Detroit we saw the San Francisco 49ers upset the undefeated Lions, but that wasn't even what got our attention. It was the near fight between Lions coach Jim Schwartz and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh over a handshake and a slap to the back. Then in New Orleans, Saints coach Sean Payton suffered a torn MCL and broken tibia after TE Jimmy Graham was rolled over his legs. In the same game Bucs DB coach Jimmy Lake tore his patella tendon after celebrating a game clinching interception. The Green Bay Packers extended their winning streak to 12 games and they are now the only 6-0 team in the NFL. Meanwhile Redskins QB John Beck and Vikings QB Christian Ponder made their NFL Debuts.

"Say What" Stats

31: 4th quarter comebacks through 6 weeks in the NFL. It is an NFL record through the first 6 weeks of the season

9: Consecutive wins by the Detroit Lions before their 25-19 loss to the 5-1 49ers.

12: Consecutive wins by the Green Bay Packers who last lost to the New England Patriots, and that was with Matt Flynn starting.
6: Rushing TD's by Panthers QB Cam Newton. He leads all QB's and tied for 1st among RB's
7: The Bengals snapped their 7 game losing streak to the Colts, and the Lions lost for the 8th straight time to the 49ers.

Controversial Call of the Week
The Controversial Call of Week 6 goes to Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson. It was 2nd and Goal at the 49ers 4 yard line with 13:56 remaining in the 4th quarter. Matthew Stafford delivered a strike to Nate Burleson in the end zone. Burleson caught the ball took 2 steps in bounds then was pushed out of bounds. When he was knocked out of bounds however he fell to the ground and layed the ball down near the field goal net. The officials called it an incomplete pass, because he lost the ball as he went to the ground. The Lions challenged the play and it was overturned. Here is the video
It is similar to the Calvin Johnson TD in Week 1 last year against Chicago, that call was ruled  incomplete, and the Lions lost the game because of it. Fast forward to Week 6 of this year, and the right call was finally made. It didn't matter though as the Lions lost 25-19, which marked their 1st loss of the season. Regardless the officials deserve credit for making the correct call this year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kurt Coleman S Philadelphia Eagles: 7 Tackles (5 Solo) 3 INTs
-The Eagles were on the opposite end of last weeks Defensive MVP Performance (Nick Barnett), but in Week 6 Eagles S Kurt Coleman gets the award. Taking the place of Jarrad Page Coleman picked off 3 of Rex Grossmans passes, and racked up 5 solo tackles as well. The 3 INT's kept the Redskins from building momentum and were a big reason the Eagles beat the Redskins 20-13.
Injury Updates:
Jason Cambell QB OAK: Broken Collarbone, Out for Year
-The Raiders playoff hopes took a substantial hit on Sunday vs. Cleveland after Jason Cambell broke his collarbone after taking a hit from Browns LB Scott Fujita. Raiders backup QB Kyle Boller replaced him went 8/14 for 100 yards, but was out shined by Punter Shane Lechler who threw a 35 yard TD pass on a trick play. Unless the Raiders make a trade Boller will be the starter Week 7 against Kansas City. Keep an eye on Terrele Pryor as he is the new backup QB.
Felix Jones RB DAL: High Ankle Sprain,  OUT for Week 7
-The Cowboys will be without RB Felix Jones for at least their Week 7 matchup against the Rams, and he could be out longer. Jones suffered a high ankle sprain early in the 1st half against the Patriots. In his absence rookie RB DeMarco Murray carried it 10 times for 32 yards, while Tashard Choice ran it 5 times for 14 yards. It is a tough break for a team that is 2-3 already, and who have blown 3 4th quarter leads already.
Sam Shields CB GB: Concussion, TBD
-Packers nickel corner Sam Shields suffered a concussion in Sundays game against St.Louis. Shields picked off a Bradford pass in the end zone, then when he tried to return he was hit. Shields will undergo mandatory testing during the week, and hopefully can be cleared for their Week 7 game at Minnesota. If Shields can not play expect backup CB Jarret Bush to take his spot.
Chris Cooley TE WAS: Broken left-index finger, Out Indefinitely
-The Redskins will be without 2x Pro Bowl TE Chris Cooley for awhile because of a broken left finger. Cooley will have surgery later in the week but it is not yet known how long the Redskins will be without his services. Things are starting to get rocky in Washington anyway after Rex Grossman was repalced by John Beck in the 4th quarter after throwing 4 INTs

Andrew Luck Sweepstakes:

After Week 6, I still believe the worst team in the NFL is the Miami Dolphins. They are (0-4) and of all the winless teams have looked the least likely to win a game. Chad Henne never came close  to what the Dolphins front office imagined when they drafted him, and he is already out for the year with a dislocated shoulder. If the Dolphins do end up with the 1st overall pick, they will not hesitate to draft Luck.
Congrats Dolphins fans, for the 3rd wek in a row
I think you have the best odds to get Luck
If Andrew Luck did land with the Dolphins it almost is a perfect place for him. He immediately inserts into an offense with a strong, young offensive line. Daniel Thomas will improve as a blocker and should become a true RB in the NFL, meanwhile Luck will have Reggie Bush open on screens, and a big time WR in Brandon Marshall. The only problem, if the Dolphins do land the 1st pick it is certain there will be a new coaching staff in Miami. There are several candidates out there but you would have to imagine the Dolphins will try and find a Harbaugh like coach. After the success he has had with the 49ers, and how he handles QB's, Miami will want to find a coach with the same type of skill set.

Quick Analysis:

-The first and only big trade of the NFL season happened early Monday morning. The Denver Broncos traded Pro Bowl WR Brandon Lloyd to the St.Louis Rams for a conditional 6th round draft pick in 2012, that could bump up to a 5th rounder if Lloyd reaches certain statistical marks. The Rams finally get Sam Bradford a reliable target who he can trust to pick up yards. Unfortunately for the Rams Bradford has a high ankle sprain and is likely to miss 2-3 weeks. For the Broncos they acquire a late draft pick and allow their young WR's to step up.
