2nd round (45): Rahim Moore S, UCLA
2nd round (46): Orlando Franklin OG, Miami
3rd round (67): Nate Irving LB, North Carolina State
4th round (108): Quinton Carter S, Oklahoma
4th round (129): Julius Thomas TE, Portland State
6th round (189): Mike Mohamed LB, California
7th round (204): Virgil Green TE, Nevada
7th round (247): Jeremy Beal DE, Oklahoma
Instant Impact Player: Von Miller OLB, Texas A&M0
-I was surprised when the Broncos revealed the selection of Miller, instead of taking Marcell Dareus. But Miller is a specimen of a pass rushing LB, and has the best chance of being the Clay Matthews type player every team wants. Miller has great instincts and size and will definitely be an impact LB from Week 1 and on. Miller is also an underrated against the run, and is really improving in that aspect as well. I think Miller will surprise people even more then expected and could easily make the Pro Bowl as a rookie, even in a 403 scheme.
Pick for the Future: Rahim Moore S, UCLA
-Moore was the highest rated Safety in this class and the Broncos got a great piece for their defense by drafting him in the 2nd round. Moore has the chance to start right away as a roaming Safety. Moore has shown the ball skills you look for in a safety and can be anywhere on the field at any time. Moore will also get the chance to learn from some of the greatest secondary players of this era with Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins. This is a perfect pick for both the Broncos and Rahim Moore, and as he learns the Safety position more, and improves his game he is going to be a great Safety.
Most Underrated Selection: Virgil Green, Nevada/Julius Thomas TE, Portland State
-The Broncos added two TE's who could develop into something very special. Virgil Green fell to the 7th because of injury concerns. Despite the injury concerns he is unbelievably talented, and in the 7th round could be the Marques Colston of the 7th round. Julius Thomas was a 4 year basketball player, who John Elway hopes can be the next Antonio Gates. Thomas has the speed, hands and size to be a great starting TE, but he is extremely raw. If he can develop though he could be the next basketball player turner star football player. Both of these TE's have alot of potential to be great, and even if only one turns out, it is a great draft for the Broncos.

"I love the Miller pick. He has potential to be a star. Trading for extra picks was a good move. Moore could be a solid player or starter for us. Thomas & Green could be steals. Overall a very impressive first draft for Elway & Fox"
Draft Grade: B
-What a solid first draft it was for John Elway and John Fox. They really built up their defense with the additions of Von Miller, Rahim Moore and Nate Irving. Irving is another player who could be a starter Day 1, as he has the skills to be an important piece on defense. The Broncos also added TE's Virgil Green and Julius Thomas, who are emmensouly talented but need to work on learning the game and staying healthy. Overall a very solid draft for the Broncos, although I would have liked to see them add another RB.
